Versatile focal length with high lens speed
The Samyang 24/1.4 lens has an ideal focal length, it opens up many possibilities for you in terms of composition and creative photography. If you use a full-frame camera, you will love the 24 as a reportage and indoor wide-angle. Its selected focal length does not yet produce a "receding" foreground, as is very quickly the case with even shorter focal lengths, but nevertheless provides 4 times the image information over a normal focal length. This is why it is so popular for landscape photography: a natural reproduction and a lot of image information are the result. The very high initial aperture of 1:1.4 also provides you with a very bright viewfinder for focusing and image composition, but also the possibility of creative cropping between foreground and background.
Internal focusing
The lens is equipped with internal focusing. The overall length does not change when focusing, nor does the filter thread rotate. This makes it very easy to use graduated filters in landscape photography. The internal focusing via partially adjustable lens groups also has the advantage that good imaging performance is achieved from infinity to close-up. Focusing, as well as the selection of the effective aperture, is done manually by the photographer.
Aspherical lenses
For a full-frame wide-angle lens with a 1.4 aperture, the lens is compactly built. This was achieved by using lenses made of high-index glass. In addition, two aspherical glass lenses provide an increase in imaging performance, you will notice it in the picture: almost all aberrations are corrected. .
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
